It Started with One Conversation
At a 9/11 commemorative event, surrounded by Veteran service organizations and resource booths, Tim and Amber Stroud walked away with a big idea: what if vital resources for Veterans and families could be shared in a way that felt more creative, approachable, and fun?
That night, they filled a whiteboard with ideas — everything from music and dance to woodworking and comedy — programs they knew would inspire healing and joy. Out of that brainstorm, Stay Tuned for Vets was born.
From the very beginning, they invited friends, reached out to partners, and built the nonprofit from the ground up. What started as one conversation quickly grew into a movement.
Today, as of September 11, 2025, Stay Tuned for Vets has served more than 500 Veterans, service members, and family members through over 40 events. Along the way, we’ve partnered with incredible organizations like Easter Seals of Greater Houston, AD Players at the George Theater, and many more who share our vision of healing through creativity.
"Our mission has always been simple — create spaces where Veterans and families can connect, heal, and thrive together."
— Tim & Amber Stroud, Co-Founders
